Beetroot Fries
If you like to eat snacks, you can prepare fries from beetroot. Although, it is a bit difficult to make, but if a little care is taken then surely good fries can be prepared.
Material
Beetroot- 2
Cumin powder- half teaspoon
Turmeric powder- half teaspoon
Salt- as per taste)
Fresh coriander- 1-2 tbsp
Lemon juice- 1 teaspoon
Potato flour- 2 tbsp
Cornflour- 1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – half teaspoon
Oil- for frying
Beetroot Fries Recipe
First of all, prepare and keep the ingredients mentioned above. Then wash the beetroot thoroughly and peel it. Now cut the beetroot into thin strips.
You can also cut it using a cutting machine, so that the fries are of uniform size. Boil water in a pan and add chopped beetroot strips in it.
Boil the beetroot lightly for 3-4 minutes, so that it becomes soft, but not completely cooked. Then filter the beetroot and put it in cold water, so that it does not melt more than necessary.
Place the boiled beetroot strips on a clean cloth and dry them thoroughly. Make sure that there is no excess water in the beetroot. Add potato flour, cornflour, red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt in a bowl.
Prepare a thick batter by adding a little water to it, so that the beetroot strips can be coated well. If you want, you can also add lemon juice and fresh coriander to this batter.
Then dip the beetroot strips in the prepared batter and coat them well, so that the entire strips are covered with the batter. Heat oil in a pan.
When the oil is well heated, slowly drop the beetroot strips into the oil. Fry the beetroot fries on medium flame until they become crisp and golden.
Take out the fried beetroot fries on a kitchen towel and let the excess oil absorb. Then serve them hot. You can also serve them with green chutney or sauce.
