ILT20 League 2023: The cash-rich International League T20, played in the United Arab Emirates, has attracted all the short-format cricketers in the world. The International League T20 is starting from January 13 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Whose first match will be played between Dubai Capitals and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.
What is the reason?
International Cricket Council (ICC) rules state that T20 competitions organized by non-Full Members will not be granted List A T20 status. Therefore, the International Cricket Council, the apex body of cricket, has recently confirmed with statisticians that no exemption will be given for big money tournaments in UAE. Due to which the records of the players in this competition will not be included in the formal T20 records.
Records of cricketers will be kept
In the International League T20, whether Andre Russell scored a 20-ball century for his team Abu Dhabi Knight Riders or Trent Boult took 10 wickets for his team Mumbai Emirates. These achievements of his will not be recorded in T20 records. Records made in this competition will have the same status as records in any club match played in England. In such a situation, the records of the players participating in this tournament will remain intact. That’s why no T20 record will be broken during this league.
Spokesperson gave information
Talking to ‘The Cricketer’, ICC spokesperson said, ICC has approved the International League T20 to be held in UAE. But this event will not be given List 1 status. Because it does not meet the criteria of the rules. In the IL T20 league, smoking cricketers like Moeen Ali, Joe Root, Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales, Wanindu Hasaranga, Andre Russell and Trent Boult will be seen playing.
