Nalanda:- A shocking case has come to light from Jagatnandanpur village of Rahui police station area of Nalanda district, where a young man was forced to marry, kidnapped and then forcibly married. This incident happened when a young man named Luvkush Kumar, who is working as a clerk in Bihar Sharif Civil Court, was returning home on bike after finishing his work. During that time, some people surrounded him on the way and took him hostage. After this, the young man was forcibly taken to Jagatnandanpur village of the district and got him married.

According to the information, Lavkush was returning to his home in Hawanpura village when some people caught him near Bhandari turn of Rahui police station area and took him to Jagatnandanpur village. There she was badly beaten and forced to get married. As soon as Lavkush’s father Surendra Yadav got information about the incident, he immediately lodged a complaint at Rahui police station.
The police took immediate action and rescued Lavkush and sent him to the local community health center for treatment. Later, seeing his condition, he was referred to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital and from here to a private clinic in Patna. The girl’s brother Satish Kumar told the police and media that Luvkush and his sister were in a love relationship for the last two years. He also said that Luvkush had come to meet his sister last Tuesday, after which the family got them married.

The young man’s family alleged
According to Satish, this marriage took place with mutual consent, but the young man’s family says that this entire incident happened forcibly. Taking cognizance of the incident, the police have started investigating the matter in depth. Ruhui Police Station Head Kunal Kumar said that strict action will be taken against the accused and it will be ensured that no one is subjected to this type of coercion.
The incident reminded us of the forced marriages of the 90s in Bihar’s Nalanda district, when such cases used to spark massive protests and controversies. At present, the police is investigating the case and attention is also being given to the treatment of the victim youth. The incident is said to have happened on December 10, but the condition of the youth has not been stable yet. At the same time, people from the groom’s side are refusing to keep the bride with them.
