IMD alert Nautapa 2024: The scorching heat continues to wreak havoc in the country. In many states of North India the temperature has crossed 40 degrees. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding Nautapa in many states including the national capital Delhi. According to IMD, heat will show its fiercest form during Nautapa.

IMD has issued a warning regarding heatwave in Delhi and other parts of North India. According to IMD, till May 25, there will be severe heat in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Western Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan as well as some parts of North-Western Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, the temperature in the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas will also increase.

What is Nautapa?

Actually, according to mythological beliefs, the weather also changes as soon as Nautapa starts. During this time the heat also increases. This year Nautapa is going to start from 25 May 2024 (Saturday). It is believed that the longer the Sun stays in the Rohini constellation, the more intense the heat is felt.

IMD’s alert regarding Nautapa

IMD has issued a warning for 9 days of Nautapa. This year Nautapa will start on 25 May and end on 2 June, which will be the hottest days of the summer season. However, during this period, some places will be hit by severe heat, while many states are likely to receive rain. IMD said that in the initial days of Nautapa, the mercury can remain between 40 to 45 degrees. Which will make people feel like 50 degrees Celsius.

The heat will make you miserable in Delhi

The Meteorological Department said that Nautapa will start from May 25, on this day voting will be held for the sixth phase in some states of the country. These include 57 Lok Sabha seats of eight states including Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal. The maximum temperature in Delhi can cross 46 degrees between May 25 and May 27. While the minimum temperature is expected to be between 29 degrees.

How will the weather be in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave conditions are likely to persist in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Kutch and Vidarbha till May 25. IMD has also predicted hot night conditions over western Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan till May 25. Apart from this, Konkan and Goa, Bihar and Jharkhand are also likely to remain hot for the next 3 days. Even after this, the weather will remain more or less the same in these states.
