IMD Weather Forecast: The outbreak of cold is likely to increase further in the coming days in many states of the country. The Meteorological Department has predicted a drop in temperature and a cold wave in some parts of Central India between January 5 and 11. Because of this, people may have to bear the brunt of severe cold even during the day.
According to news agency ANI, IMD Director General Dr. Mrityunjay Mahapatra says that the night temperature may drop, due to which some parts of Central India and the plains, especially Madhya Pradesh, northern areas of Maharashtra, southern parts of Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, cold conditions will increase in the surrounding areas of Haryana and Rajasthan. The day temperature is also expected to remain below normal.
Apart from this, heavy rains are expected in low pressure areas, especially in Lakshadweep in the next 3 days. There is a possibility of strong winds at the speed of 40 to 50 km in Lakshadweep area. Meteorologists have also advised fishermen not to go to the seashore at these places.
The minimum temperature of these states is expected to drop
In the bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department, while giving the possible forecast for the temperature during January, 2024, it was said that the monthly minimum temperature is likely to be above normal in many parts of the country. Except in some parts of North India, minimum temperatures are likely to be normal to below normal at these places.

Chance of rain in these states in the month of January
Apart from Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, IMD has also predicted more than normal rainfall in Ladakh in the month of January.
The Meteorological Department has also predicted that there is a possibility of more than normal rainfall in most parts of the country. Except in some parts of North-West India and some areas of North-East India, where there is a possibility of normal to below normal rainfall.
