In which they have been instructed to remove many drinks including Bournvita which are sold in the name of ‘health drinks’ from this category on their portal and platform. Actually, the news of ABP’s public prime time show ‘Public Interest’ has had an impact. This issue was raised in a public interest show a few days ago. In which Jagvinder Patial had shown this issue prominently.
Bournvita contains sugar more than the prescribed limit
When NCPCR tested Bournvita, it found that the sugar level in it was much higher than the prescribed limit. Drinking it can spoil your health. After this investigation came to light, the government announced this decision.
According to the notification of the Ministry, as per the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, NCPCR has given special instructions in its investigation that the definition of health drink has not been clearly given under the FSA Act. Therefore, all e-commerce companies and portals will have to remove all types of drinks and beverages including Bournvita from the health drink category.
Ban on health-energy drink juice also
This month, the government has tightened the noose on e-commerce companies that sell juices in the name of health and energy drinks. The government has given special instructions to e-commerce websites not to sell juices in the name of health and energy drinks. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said that e-commerce companies should properly segment the food products sold on their websites.
If you give correct information about the product then you should not mislead the customers. The sales of energy drinks are increasing rapidly every year at the rate of 50 percent. Youth use it more. Which is very worrying. Many researches have revealed that it can cause a serious problem. FSSAI has also described it as serious.
