The actor was battling internal struggle
In a recent interview with India Today, Emraan said, “Without going into that part too much, because I am hesitant to add too much to the gossip fire, but because I was dealing with all this burden and all my internal struggles, I did that. I found that my marriage and my relationship were not helping at all.”
Imran further adds, ‘In an ideal, healthy flow between two people, you are both making each other better, stronger and supporting each other to be the healthiest, best, strongest versions of yourself. We were not in that place.’
Imran and Avantika were living separately since February 2019
Earlier in another interview, Imran had said, ‘The speculations that I am romantically connected with Lekha Washington are true. I am divorced and have been living separately since February 2019.’ It is worth noting that during the year 2019, there were reports that Avantika had left Imran’s house. However, the divorce of both was not confirmed then.
Avantika and Imran were living separately since 2019 but the couple got divorced in the year 2021. Both were definitely living separately, although they were officially divorced in the year 2021. Currently Imran is dating Lekha. His dating with Lekha started during the initial lockdown.

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik got married in the year 2011. After marriage, both became parents of a daughter whose name is Imara. Imara lives with her mother Avantika.
