After about four years, doctors (teachers) have been promoted on a large scale in IMS BHU. The promotion envelope was opened after the interview which lasted till the last week of June. Email has been sent to more than 50 doctors. In this, some have got promotion from 2021 and some from 2022. Some people got the email in the afternoon and took charge in the department, whereas due to getting the email late in the evening, most of the doctors will take up new responsibilities in the department on Monday.
There are more than 300 posts of doctors in IMS including Modern Medicine, Ayurveda Faculty, Dental Faculty. At present, about 100 posts are vacant. Meanwhile, promotions were to be done on 100 posts.
In the month of June, in the presence of the Vice Chancellor and IMS Director, doctors gave interviews for the posts of Assistant Professor to Associate Professor, Associate Professor to Professor, as well as promotion from Professor to Senior Professor in departments including ENT, Anaesthesia, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Geriatrics, Surgery, Radiotherapy, Neuro Surgery, Medicine and other departments. Everyone was waiting for the result since the interview. Here on Saturday, the envelopes were opened one by one department wise, after which the doctors got the information about their promotion.
