New Delhi. The application process for admission to undergraduate programs in the academic session 2024-25 of Delhi University has started. Students will get admission on the basis of their CUET score (Common University Entrance Test), but 12th marks are also important in the admission process. Actually, if more than one student has the same CUET score, then a tie breaking situation will arise. Then the administration will look at the 12th marks for admission. Whoever has more marks will be allotted a seat. In such a situation, DU has advised the students to fill the 12th marks carefully in the ongoing application process.

According to the DU official, students have to fill the marks of class XII very carefully in their application form. DU has clarified that the student will be responsible for any mistake made in filling the theory, practical or total marks of class XII. Actually, the tie breaking rule for seat allocation is that if the CUET score of more than one student is the same, then we will adopt the tie breaking formula. Four rules will be adopted for this. Under the first three rules, the higher percentage of class XII marks of the candidate will be seen. While in the end, the age of the candidate’s class X will be given preference. If the marks of both class XI and XII are in the mark sheet, then only the marks of class XII will be considered.

First of all, priority will be given to the candidate having higher percentage of total marks in the best three subjects of class XII. Even after this, if the marks remain the same, then the candidate having higher percentage of total marks in the best 4 subjects of class XII will be given priority. Even after this, if the CUET score remains the same, then the candidate having higher percentage of total marks in the best 5 subjects of class XII will be given priority. If the marks still remain the same, then the age of the student will be considered. For this, the date of birth in his class X certificate will be taken as the basis. The seat will be allotted to the candidate whose date of birth is earlier.
