Increasing Death: Bhairoghat, Bhagwatdas Ghat Electric Crematoriums Will Now Be Open For 12 Hours – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

On Saturday, 18 funerals took place at Bhairoghat and Bhagwatdas Ghat electric crematoriums in Kanpur. This is the largest number of funerals in a day after the Corona period. In view of the continuous deaths, the opening time of both the crematoriums has also been increased. Now they will open for 12 hours from 8:00 am. Earlier they used to open from 10 am to 5 pm.

Municipal Corporation’s Chief Engineer (Electrical Mechanical) RK Pal inspected both the electric crematoriums. He instructed the employees to cremate the bodies by 8:00 pm. They were asked to cremate on priority the bodies brought by relatives as compared to unidentified bodies. The Chief Engineer said that since May 28, the number of bodies coming to the electric crematoriums has more than doubled. According to the data of both the electric crematoriums, before May 25, on an average five bodies were cremated every day. Now this number has started increasing. There were 10 cremations on 26th and 18 on June 1.

The last rites are performed at a temperature of 1100 degrees Celsius

Kamruddin, in-charge of electric crematoriums, said that the normal temperature of the furnaces installed in them is kept at 650 degrees Celsius day and night. When the channel (gate) is closed after sending the body into the furnace, the temperature is increased to 1100 degrees Celsius. It takes one to one and a half hours to cremate a body.
