Shubman Gill Century: Shubman Gill scored a brilliant century in the second innings of the second Test being played against England in Visakhapatnam. Gill became the trouble-shooter for the Indian team in the second innings. Gill scored 104 runs against England on the third day of the second Test, helping India score 255 runs in the second innings and giving England a target of 399 runs.
This is Gill’s first score of more than 50 runs in 13 innings of Test cricket. Gill has made a big score for the first time at number three. However, Gill did not celebrate much after the century. After the end of the day’s play, Gill also revealed the reason for this.
After the end of the third day’s play, Shubman Gill said, scoring runs at number three was very important and very satisfying for me. It felt great, especially when we lost the wickets of Yashasvi and Rohit. It was very important for us to take a big lead and score as many runs as possible.
Gill also survived DRS twice during his innings. He knows that the team has a lot of expectations from him, due to which he celebrated in a calm manner after scoring a century. However, he could not stay at the crease for long after scoring a century.
Regarding this he said, “It felt good. I felt that the work for the team was not done. That’s why I did not celebrate too fast.” On James Anderson’s bowling, he said, “I was concentrating on one ball at a time and definitely a lot was happening at the crease.
