IND vs SL 1st ODI: The first match of the ODI series being played between India and Sri Lanka was played in Guwahati. In this match, the Indian team won by 67 runs. After losing the toss and getting the invitation to bat first, the Indian team while batting put 373 on the board at the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. The Sri Lankan team, which came out to chase the runs, could make only 306 runs in 50 overs at the loss of 8 wickets. In this, team captain Dasun Shanaka played a century and he returned unbeaten, but could not win his team. After the match, Shanaka highlighted those mistakes and told where he and the team missed.
Speaking after the match, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka said, “I think the starts their openers gave us, we didn’t use the new ball well, the way their bowlers swung it. We had the plan, but the bowlers didn’t execute the basics properly. We didn’t use variations in the batting during the first 10 overs. I think I was doing the basic things right. I think I should bat higher in T20 Internationals, but the team needed me at number six along with Bhanuka at number five.
