Why does China have an evil eye on Tawang?
There is a long-standing dispute between India and China over some area on the Line of Control (LAC). China has been trying to capture these areas. China’s evil intention is also to capture the Tawang post so that from here it becomes easier to monitor the LAC with Tibet. Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama has also been declaring Tawang as the territory of India. China calls the Dalai Lama a separatist leader. China’s intention is also to capture Tawang and destroy the Tibetan Buddhist center. If China takes control of Tawang, then its grip on Tibet will be even stronger, as well as it can stake claim on Arunachal as well. However, India will not allow this to happen at any cost.
Tawang’s connection since 1962
Tawang is also associated with the Indo-China war of 1962. India had to face a lot of problems here during the 1962 war. Later, under the ceasefire, China had to retreat. After the McMahon agreement, Tawang was considered a part of India. After the agreement, China had also vacated it because this area falls within the McMahon line but the dragon now refuses to recognize it.
