Kazan BRICS Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS summit and held a bilateral meeting. PM during meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin Narendra Modi said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude for your friendship, warm welcome and hospitality. It is a great pleasure for me to have the opportunity to come to the beautiful city of Kazan for the BRICS Summit. These relations are deep and historical and will be further strengthened by the opening of India’s new embassy in Kazan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “We have been in constant touch on the subject of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. As I have said earlier, we believe that problems should be resolved peacefully. We are committed to peace and We fully support the restoration of stability as soon as possible. India is ready to provide all possible support in the times to come.

What did Putin say?

Putin said, “I remember that we met in July and we had a very good discussion on many issues. We also spoke on the telephone several times. I am very grateful to you for accepting the invitation to visit Kazan. Today We will attend the opening ceremony of the BRICS summit and then have dinner. We should take some very important decisions during the BRICS summit today.”
