Pre-Arrival Registration: An advisory has been issued by the Consulate General of India in Hong Kong for people traveling from India to Hong Kong. This advisory is for those who are planning to visit Hong Kong for less than 14 days. According to the advisory, citizens will have to register for online pre-arrival registration (PAR).
The Consulate General of India gave this information through social media platform X. “Indian nationals planning to visit the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) for a stay not exceeding 14 days are required to apply for online Pre-Arrival Registration (PAR),” it said in a statement.
For how many days is a PAR valid?
If pre-arrival registration is successful then it is valid for a period of 6 months and for multiple journeys. “The information given in the PAR should exactly match the information given in the passport,” the statement said. Besides, passengers will also have to carry a printout of the complete PAR on A4 size white paper.
What other documents are required?
Apart from all this, Indian travelers must also have a passport validity of at least 6 months, confirmed return or onward ticket, confirmed hotel booking, proof of genuine purpose of travel and proof of adequate financial provisions. The Embassy also pointed out that holding a PAR does not guarantee the registrant’s successful entry into Hong Kong and needs to comply with the above requirements.

“Please note that possession of a valid PAR does not guarantee a registrant’s successful entry into Hong Kong,” the embassy statement said. There have been many instances when Hong Kong Immigration has denied permission to land in the absence of the required documents mentioned above. Therefore, the Consulate General of India urges Indian nationals visiting Hong Kong to adhere to the regulations of the HKSAR Government in this regard, so as to minimize the possibility of any inconvenience to themselves.”
