Rishabh Pant, who has become the savior for the Indian team many times in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, looked completely ‘out of touch’. Travis Head becomes trouble for India
Travis Head has been scoring a lot of runs against India from time to time. It was Travis Head who took India away from victory in the Adelaide Test. He played a century inning of 140 runs at a time when other batsmen were struggling to score even one run. Thanks to Head’s century and Marnus Labuschagne’s 64-run innings, Australia was able to get a lead of 157 runs in the first innings. Team India again collapsed under pressure and could score only 175 runs in the second innings.
Starc-Cummins havoc
The match itself was started by Mitchell Starc by making Yashasvi Jaiswal the victim of a golden duck. The sequence of falling wickets did not end from there. The situation was such that India’s first innings was all out for just 180 runs. In response, Australia scored 337 runs, giving it a lead of 157 runs. Starc took 6 wickets in the first innings, who took 8 wickets in the entire match. Cummins took charge in the second innings, who could take 2 wickets in the first innings but took 5 wickets in the second innings.
India’s flop show in batting
