NSA Ajit Doval in China: India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval will visit China from tomorrow i.e. 17th December (Tuesday). NSA is going to China to participate in special representative level talks regarding Line of Actual Control (LAC). According to defense sources, this meeting regarding the border between India and China will be held on December 17 (Tuesday) and December 18 (Wednesday). During this visit, Doval will also discuss with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This visit of NSA to China is being seen as a big step towards resolving the long-running border dispute between the two countries.
Special representative level talks will be held after 5 years
This will be the first special representative level talks after the clash in Galvan Valley between the soldiers of the two countries. Before this, the last special representative level talks between the two countries were held 5 years ago in December 2019.
According to defense sources, the objective of this special representative level talks is to promote comprehensive understanding of the LAC issue and outline its long-term solution.
This is going to be the first special representative level talks after the clash in Galwan Valley in June 2020. After the Galwan clash, relations between the two countries were badly affected. The success of this high level talks will also pave the way for the next Corps Commander level talks.
The meeting is going to take place after the meeting held in Delhi
This special dialogue between India and China is being organized with mutual consent during the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) meeting held in New Delhi. In the past years, bilateral relations between the two countries have been greatly affected due to the tension on LAC. Therefore, finding a permanent solution through this dialogue is very important for both the countries.
