Dennis Francis addressed the first conference on Citizen Stack: Digital Public Infrastructure, Transformative Technology for Citizens organized by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations with the support of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology here on Thursday (April 26).
The conference was attended by top UN leaders, diplomats, think tanks and members of civil society organizations. Dennis Francis said that during his visit to India in January this year, he had the privilege of witnessing how the rapid expansion of DPI in India has broadened access, bringing financial freedom and prosperity to millions of people who were previously either economically disadvantaged or not. Dennis Francis said that in just seven years, India’s DPI model has achieved more than 80 percent financial inclusion for its citizens and accounts for 60 percent of all digital transactions worldwide.
