Team India 200th T20I Match: After winning the Test and ODI series on the tour of West Indies, the Indian team will now play a 5-match T20 series against the hosts from 3rd August. The first T20 match of the series to be played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad is going to be very special for Team India. This will be the 200th international T20 match for the Indian team. So far in the T20 format for India, the dominance of only 1 player has been seen in batting and that is Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli, who captained Team India for a long time in all three formats, has also got to see amazing things with the bat. So far, Virat Kohli, who has been a part of 115 T20 matches out of 199 for India, has scored the most runs for the team in this format at the international level. Virat has 4008 T20 International runs in his name, in which he has an average of 52.74, which is also the highest among other Indian players.
Virat Kohli is also the player with the most half-centuries and most 50-plus runs for India in T20 Internationals so far. In the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup T20 format, Virat Kohli is the number-1 player in terms of scoring the most runs for the Indian team. Kohli has 37 half-centuries in T20 internationals along with one century.
Not a single international match played in this format after T20 World Cup 2022
Since the T20 World Cup played in Australia in the year 2022, till now Virat Kohli has not played a single match for Team India in this format. It is believed that the selectors are now preparing young players for the T20 World Cup to be held in the year 2024. Let us tell you that Pakistan has played the maximum number of 223 T20 International matches in world cricket, after which India will become the second country to play 200 matches.
