CAA Rules: Citizenship Amendment Act was passed in December 2019. After this it was also approved by the President. But it showed great growth across the country due to which it could not be implemented. It is being speculated that Lok Sabha ElectionsBefore it can be implemented. Minorities of neighboring Muslim countries will get citizenship
According to the Citizenship Amendment Act made by the Indian Government, the minorities of three Muslim countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan will be given Indian citizenship. This citizenship will be available only to those people who have come to India till 31 December 2014. According to the rules of CAA, 6 non-Muslim communities which include Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Jain, Buddhist and Parsi. Only those people will be given Indian citizenship. That is, if any Muslim has come to India from these three countries on or before 31 December 2014. So he will have to follow the complete process to get Indian citizenship. He will not be given citizenship under CAA.
What will be the benefit of CAA?
The Indian Government had made changes in the Indian Citizenship Act in the year 2019. Under which minorities coming from Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Pakistan will be facilitated in getting Indian citizenship. Now that CAA has been implemented in India. So till December 31, 2014, minority people coming from these countries will not need to show any document to get Indian citizenship. The process of obtaining citizenship will become much easier for them.
