Expansion
Bollywood needs romanticism and Sufi style of voice in singing. This Sufi style has contributed to my success. However, my success of becoming an Indian Idol was not achieved overnight. For this, it takes many years of musical practice and practice of tunes. That practice, which I kept increasing after every failure. This passion to do something in the world of music became the reason for my success. This is what Indian Idol-14 winner Vaibhav Gupta has to say, who came to Amar Ujala office in Fazalganj with his father Vishnu Gupta on Tuesday evening.
Mo. Listened to Rafi Sahab’s song two hundred times to catch the notes.
I am from Nanakari, Kanpur, but after hearing my voice, everyone thought I was from Rajasthan. People used to say that the voice has the same Sufiness which is seen in the singing of Rajasthan or Haryana. I learned singing by listening to great singers. Many times it takes hours to master the tunes of a song. Mo. To learn the tunes of the song ‘Ahsaan Tera Hoga Mujh Par…’ sung by Rafi Saheb, I hummed that song more than two hundred times, and then I could sing it to my heart’s content.
Sukhwinder himself wore the shoes, couldn’t believe it
When I was very young, once singer Sukhwinder Singh had come to an IIT program, I wanted to go but could not. That night I listened to his songs standing on the terrace. When I met the same Sukhwinder Singh on the set of Indian Idol, he gave me shoes after listening to the song Mena, so I couldn’t believe that my idol could honor me in this way. Before going to the audition, blessings of Baba Anandeshwar were taken. Will open his studio in Mumbai with the prize money. Learned the style of performance from Shashank Dixit and the genre of classical singing from Anant Gupta. New singers should use Tanpura for riyaaz. Try to master Sa by applying any one scale to it, if Sa is accomplished then everything will be accomplished.
Papa was sitting in this corner in the program of 26 January
On coming to Amar Ujala office, Vaibhav told that when he was six years old, there was a singing competition in Amar Ujala office on the occasion of 26 January. He had come to participate in it. While showing the place to the father and friends who came with him, he said, I was sitting here in that program. It felt good to have the opportunity to come again today.
