Indian Student Death in Canada: An Indian student died after drowning in a lake in Canada. This incident happened when the student of Indian origin went to celebrate his birthday party on the banks of a lake in Toronto. Student A Praneet, a resident of Rangareddy district of Hyderabad, had recently completed his PG studies and was looking for a job in Canada. The relatives of the deceased have appealed to the Indian government to take immediate action and bring the body back to India.
Actually, tragedy struck a Hyderabad family when a student named A Praneet died in Canada. Praneet drowned in a lake in Toronto while celebrating a birthday party with his friends on Sunday. Praneet was a native of Mirpet in Ranga Reddy district. Praneet had gone to a cottage near Clear Lake in Canada to celebrate holidays with his friends and brother on Sunday. According to father A Ravi, Praneet went swimming with his friends and brother on Sunday morning, but did not return to the lake shore.
The family got the news of death on Monday
The deceased’s father said that the local police was informed after the accident, but it took more than 10 hours for the rescue team to reach the lake. After which a search was started in the lake and the body was recovered in the evening. This news reached Praneet’s family on Monday through a friend of the victim’s brother. The family is in touch with Praneet’s friends in Canada, who are coordinating with the local authorities. The deceased’s family has appealed to the government for assistance in bringing Praneet’s body back to India.
Birthday turned into a day of mourning
Praneeth’s father expressed deep grief and said that his son’s birthday turned into a day of mourning. The family is seeking assistance to expedite the process of bringing Praneeth’s body back to Hyderabad. Praneeth went to Canada for studies in 2019, after which his elder brother moved to Canada in 2022.
News of deaths of Indian students often comes from abroad
There are frequent reports of deaths of Indian students abroad including Canada. Three weeks ago, two Indian students died due to drowning in a swimming pool in Florida. In July, an Indian student died while swimming in Barberville Falls, New York. Along with this, a student from Hyderabad died during a shootout at a grocery store in Houston, America.
