According to this survey, Indians spend the most money on milk in both urban and rural areas.

Rural areas?

Now a question comes to your mind. It may be that milk is easily available in rural areas. In fact, if we look at the data of rural areas, we will find that people there spend Rs 314 per month on milk. Whereas Rs 203 is spent on vegetables, Rs 185 on grains, Rs 185 on eggs, fish and meat. Apart from this, they spend Rs 140 on fruits, Rs 136 on edible oil, Rs 113 on spices and Rs 76 on pulses.

How much do urban people spend?

In urban areas, the maximum amount spent on milk is Rs 466 every month. Whereas Rs 246 is spent on fruits, Rs 245 on vegetables, Rs 235 on grains and Rs 231 on eggs, fish and meat. In the city, people spend Rs 153 on edible oil, Rs 138 on spices and Rs 90 on pulses.

Why is milk consumption increasing?

According to experts, Indians consider milk as a super food. That is why milk consumption has increased rapidly in the last years. The manner in which milk consumption has increased is also a good sign for the overall health index of India. According to experts, milk contains many nutrients, which are essential for better health. At the same time, milk consumption also helps in fighting diseases like malnutrition.

Consumption increased with price 

According to a report of the Consumer Ministry last year. In 5 years, the price of milk has increased from Rs 42 per liter to Rs 60 per liter. Despite this, the consumption of milk has not decreased, rather the consumption is increasing.
