The festival of Diwali is being celebrated with great pomp and now preparations for Chhath Mahaparva have started. For this, thousands and lakhs of people leave for Purvanchal from different states. Many of these people have to travel on the roof of the train to go home. In such a situation, the government makes special preparations every year. In this series, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reached New Delhi Railway Station on Friday evening (01 November) to take stock of the arrangements.
He told that this year i.e. 2024, more special trains have been run than last year’s record. Last year 4500 thousand trains were run. At the same time, this time 7435 trains are being run in view of extra passengers and traffic. Apart from these, arrangements are being made to run 150 more trains. If seen accordingly, around 7600 special trains are being run in 2024. The Railway Minister also said that till Thursday evening, 51 lakh people have availed the benefit of these special trains.
Special arrangements made at big stations
The Railway Minister said that special arrangements have been made at all the major stations. These include four big receiving stations of Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Lucknow and Bihar, where special care has been taken for preparations. Special holding areas have been created everywhere. A special machine has been brought for tickets. It is expected that passengers will not face any problem at any place and they will be able to travel comfortably.
Special waiting area created at the station
At big stations, preparations have been made keeping in mind the number of passengers outside the station. In Delhi, a big pandal has been set up for the passengers outside the station at New Delhi and Anand Vihar stations, in which fans, lights, water and toilets have been arranged. At the same time, extra counters and boards have been installed to provide information to the passengers, so that people can get the timings and information of every train in the pandal itself. Apart from this, facility for tickets has also been provided.
Railways started preparations for Kumbh
Let us tell you that the Railway Ministry has also started special preparations for the people going to Kumbh to be held in Prayagraj. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that preparations for Kumbh are being done on a large scale. New infrastructure has been created. The entire arrangement for special trains is being made in collaboration with the state governments. The movement of all the devotees who will come to Kumbh will be done in a very scientific manner.
