IRCTC Stopped Compensation In Private Trains: If you travel Indian Railways. Your train gets late. And you are not able to travel. So in such a situation, there is a provision to give you compensation from the Railways. But from the information received under Right to Information, it has been revealed that Railways has stopped providing this facility in some trains.
That is, if you are going to travel in some special trains of Indian Railways. So if those trains are late. Then no compensation of any kind will be provided to you by the Railways. Let us tell you in which trains IRCTC has secretly discontinued the compensation scheme.
No compensation will be given for being late in private trains
According to the rules of Indian Railways, if you are traveling by train and one of your trains gets late due to which you could not travel. So Railways pays you compensation as per the rules. But now this scheme will not be implemented by Indian Railways regarding private trains. Talking about private trains, the first private train was run in India in the year 2019, Tejas Express going from Lucknow to Delhi is a private train. The operation of private trains by IRCTC was started with this purpose. So that trains can be made more attractive. But now the passengers traveling in these trains will not get compensation from IRCTC due to delay in them.
Reason not given
According to the information received from IRCTC, Rs 15.65 lakh has been given as compensation by Indian Railways in the year 2023-24. In response to the RTI filed, IRCTC informed that now the facility of paying compensation to passengers for late running of private trains has been stopped by IRCTC. On 15 February 2024, this scheme was closed for private trains. However, IRCTC has not given the reason for this citing privacy policy.
I used to get this much compensation
Regarding the amount given by IRCTC as compensation in private trains, it has been told that Rs 100 was given for delay of 60 to 120 minutes. So, if the passengers were late by 120 to 240 minutes, they were given Rs 250.
