The Indonesian Industry Ministry has said that Google’s smartphones cannot be sold unless they meet the requirement of 40% local content in smartphones sold in Indonesia. According to Industry Ministry spokesperson Fabri Hendry Antoine Arif, the country’s aim is to promote domestic manufacturing and reduce dependence on imported technology. After the ban, Pixel phones will no longer be officially sold in Indonesia.

Orders were given to stop the sale of iPhone 16
Recently, orders were given by Indonesia to immediately stop the sale of iPhone 16. This decision is part of Apple’s strict action. The Indonesian government had alleged that Apple had asked to invest in their country. But the company did not do so, after which this decision has been taken.
Apple had made some investments in Indonesia, but it was not as much as the company wanted. Now TKDN certification has not been issued by the government. Because of this, Apple iPhone 16 will no longer be sold in Indonesia. The Indonesian government is waiting for the remaining investment. According to reports, Apple has invested Rs 1.48 trillion in Indonesia, whereas the total investment by Apple was said to be Rs 1.71 trillion. In such a situation, the company did not live up to the expectations of the government and the government has taken action.
