According to initial information, joint forces foiled an infiltration attempt on the Line of Control in Kamalkot in Uri sector and during this time a terrorist was eliminated, while the operation is currently going on.

The terrorists had started firing heavily on the army soldiers, in retaliation to which the army had to open fire on them. In the elections, the alliance of National Conference and Congress crossed the majority mark and formed the government in the state. In the elections, National Conference got 42 seats, Bharatiya Janata Party got 29, Congress got 6 and Mehbooba Mufti led PDP got three seats.
