Manoj got his hobby of keeping a unique moustache from Wing Commander Abhinandan. Actually, before Manoj, his father was also an officer in the police department. This inspired him to join the police department.
Manoj says that earlier he used to be clean shaven. Later, inspired by Wing Commander Abhinandan, he started keeping this type of moustache. He liked Wing Commander Abhinandan’s moustache very much. Apart from that, he also likes the moustache of Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar. Inspired by this style of these people, Manoj also started keeping his moustache in their style. Manoj says that it is not so easy to keep these moustaches. He keeps setting the moustache every third day. The cost of maintaining it comes to around ₹ 100 every third day.

Manoj told Local 18 that his moustache is liked not only by the people of Bareilly but also by the top officials here. Officials have also praised his moustache many times. Manoj says that when he started keeping a moustache, the then SSP Prabhakar Chaudhary called him and praised his moustache and also gave him a cash reward of ₹ 1000. Apart from this, Prabhakar also gave him a presentation letter. After this, his interest in keeping a moustache also increased. Since then, Manoj started keeping a moustache in a unique style. Manoj’s wife and children also like his style of keeping a moustache very much.
