Courage is not dependent on age, they just have to be given flight. 106 year old Udanpari Rambai is an example for women. His journey of running which started about two years ago has now reached the top. She has won more than fifty gold medals. Now she is preparing for the next competitions to be held this year.

Delhi Women’s Commission is going to salute this spirit of Rambai. The Commission is going to honor her on Women’s Day on March 11. At the age when the elderly need some support, Rambai surprised everyone by running for 100 meters. Sharmila, a resident of Dwarka, who is Rambai’s granddaughter, says that if Nani falls ill, she gets cured by going to the ground. We all wonder from where she gets so much energy. We think working in the fields and walking so much is the secret of his success. She is an example for all generations especially for women that there is no age to do something. It is important to have the mindset that women can do anything.

Recently, she has come after running 100-100 meters in the athletics competition held in Midnapore, Kolkata and Alwar. Sharmila tells that I had made up my mind to make her run in the competition for the elderly. The family members told me that it is not good to run at this age, there will be harm to the body and there is a danger of breaking the bone, but seeing the spirit of the grandmother, I did not lose courage.

Has made a record in 100 meter race

Rambai had created a new national record by completing the 100 meters race in 45.40 seconds at the National Open Masters Athletics Championship held in Vadodara, Gujarat last year. Earlier this record was in the name of 101 year old Maan Kaur in 2017. On the other hand, Rambai completed the 200 meters race in 1 minute 52.17 seconds in the same competition.
