One of these asanas is Parvatasana which is also known as Mountain Pose. Although Parvatasana has many health benefits, for some people this asana can cause harm instead of benefit.

Parvatasana is a very easy asana, so even if you have just started yoga, you can easily practice this asana. Doing Parvatasana not only reduces obesity but also improves body posture. It also improves blood circulation and is considered a very beneficial asana for women. But still some people should avoid doing this asana. Let us tell you who are those people.

According to yoga guru Lata Srivastava, people who are suffering from these conditions should avoid doing Parvatasana. She says that either these people should not do Parvatasana and even if they are doing it, then they should do it only under the supervision of a yoga expert.

  1. People who suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome should avoid practicing Parvatasana yoga posture
  2. Avoid doing this asana if you have injuries to your wrists, back, hips, neck or shoulders
  3. If you are suffering from severe stress or anxiety, you should avoid doing Parvatasana. This is because the steps of Parvatasana can increase your body temperature.
  4. If you have fever, cold or flu, avoid doing Parvatasana.
  5. People who suffer from spinal problems or injuries should not do mountain pose yoga.
  6. People who have frozen shoulder, osteoporosis or arthritis.
  7. People who have been diagnosed with heart related problems should also avoid doing this asana.
  8. People who have high blood pressure.
  9. If you are sleep deprived or tired, avoid doing mountain pose yoga.

Avoid in pregnancy

Although practicing Parvatasana is considered safe during pregnancy, it can be a little difficult to do it in the last trimester. Therefore, try to do Parvatasana during pregnancy only under the knowledge of a yoga expert.
