Indian Premier League 2023: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will get a big blow in the form of Ben Stokes after the last league match. For CSK to secure their place in the playoffs, it is very important to win the last league match against Delhi Capitals. Ben Stokes has to return home to prepare for the Test match between England and Ireland and the Ashes series.
Ben Stokes has played only 2 matches this season. According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, Ben Stokes will leave for England after the match between CSK and Delhi on 20 May. If Chennai secures its place in the playoffs, the team will not have Ben Stokes available for selection.
Even before coming to play in IPL, Ben Stokes had given a statement on early return from IPL regarding the preparation of Ashes. England has to play the only Test match against Ireland from 1 June. This match is also being seen from the point of view of preparations before the Ashes of England. The England Cricket Board can announce the team for both these series soon.

Chennai included Ben Stokes in their team for Rs 16.25 crore during the IPL auction for this season. In the two matches in which Stokes got a chance to play, he scored 7 and 8 runs with the bat. Apart from this, he had spent 18 runs in the only over. Ben Stokes was out of playing 11 after 2 matches due to knee problem. Although he was not included in the team even after being fully fit.
