Arun Jagdeesh Mumbai Indians IPL 2023: Preparations for IPL 2023 have started. Recently an auction was also organized for this in Kochi. In this, all the teams bought a total of 80 players. In this connection, Mumbai Indians have taken another important step. Five-time IPL champions Mumbai have appointed Arun Kumar Jagadish as assistant batting coach ahead of the 2023 season of the tournament.
Arun Kumar will join the support staff of Mumbai Indians where Mark Boucher is the head coach while Kieron Pollard is the batting coach. Shane Bond is the bowling and James Payment is the fielding coach.
Arun Kumar was a right-handed opening batsman during his playing days. He has scored 7208 runs in more than 100 first class matches. He represented Karnataka in domestic cricket from 1993 to 2008.
After retirement, he turned to coaching and got instant success. Arun Kumar was the batting coach of the Karnataka team when it won the Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup and Vijay Hazare Trophy titles back-to-back in 2013–14 and 2014–15.
IPL is also included in Arun Kumar’s coaching. He served as the batting coach of Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2017.
In domestic cricket, he has worked with the Hyderabad team and was the head coach of Puducherry in the 2019-20 season. Arun Kumar also served as the head coach of the US men’s cricket team from 2020 to December 2022.
