IPL 2023: Indian Premier League Royal Challengers Bangalore, one of the most favorite teams of IPL, is going to push to win the league title once again. Before the start of the 16th season, RCB had retained most of their star players and they have signed some new players in the auction. Apart from signing two England players, RCB has made all other signings as Indian uncapped players. Let us know what could be the strength and weaknesses of the team for the upcoming season.
Batting will again become the strength of RCB
RCB have not made much changes in their batting lineup and have retained the core of last season. There are three foreign batsmen in the form of Faf du Plessis, Finn Allen and Glenn Maxwell who can play aggressive innings in the top order. Three Indian batsmen are also present in the form of Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik. All of them are expected to play continuously and in such a situation the batting of the team is looking very dangerous. Two more options are present in the team in the form of Suyash Prabhudesai and Shahbaz Ahmed.
Good options are also visible in bowling
As strong as RCB’s batting is, according to that their bowling is not strong. However, this season the team has definitely created variety which can be useful for them. Along with retaining Mohammad Siraj, Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel, Reece Topley has been bought. Akash Deep has also been retained in the team, so overall there is no dearth of options in fast bowling. In the spin department, Wanindu Hasaranga and Karn Sharma have been retained in the team. The team will have high hopes from Hasaranga, who bowled well last season. If the bowlers support the batsmen, then RCB can go closer to the trophy.
