The grand finale of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is to be held on 26 May after 73 matches. The final match is to be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad today i.e. on 26 May at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Hyderabad team is captained by Pat Cummins and the Kolkata team is led by Shreyas Iyer. But the question is the way foreign players come to India and play IPL matches. Do the players of the Indian team also go abroad and play in other leagues?
IPL
The Indian Premier League (IPL) held in India is the most expensive T20 league in the world. Dozens of players from abroad come and play in the Indian Premier League. They get many benefits from this. Apart from this, they also get a lot of money for playing.
Let us tell you that apart from the Indian Premier League (IPL), dozens of cricket leagues are played all over the world including Bangladesh Premier League, South Africa T20 League, Lanka Premier League, Big Bash League, Caribbean Premier League, T20 Blast, The Hundred. But except IPL, Indian players do not play in any foreign league.
Why don’t Indian players play?
The question is why Indian players don’t go to play in other country’s leagues. Actually BCCI has banned Indian cricketers from playing in foreign leagues. The main reason for this is that the schedule of Indian cricketers is already busy. Indian players already have a lot of matches to play. According to former Indian players, Indian cricketers do not need to play in foreign leagues because a lot of cricket matches are played at domestic level in our country.
