Tension in Middle East and America: The long-running war between Israel and Hamas and Iran’s repeated involvement in it is constantly increasing tensions in Central Asia. This tension has reached its peak after the assassination of Palestinian Islamic group Hamas’ political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran’s capital Tehran last month. After this assassination in its country, Iran had threatened to take revenge from Israel.
It is being told that Iran was waiting for the right time for this attack and now it can attack Israel anytime this week. In view of the increasing tension in the Middle East, America has now sent an aircraft carrier strike group and a guided missile submarine towards Israel in the Middle East. This submarine has been sent when National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said in a conversation with the media that “we have to be prepared for large-scale attacks.
America said, will take every possible step to help allies
At the same time, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that America will take every possible step to protect its ally. Not only this, the White House said that Biden also held discussions with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy and Britain on Monday to discuss the increasing tension.
Many countries canceled flights amid fears of Iran attack
Meanwhile, amid fears of an Iranian attack, many airlines from different countries have canceled their flights to Israel. German airline Lufthansa said on Monday that it is suspending flights to Tel Aviv in Israel, Lebanon’s capital Beirut, Jordan’s capital Amman, Erbil in Iraq and Iran’s capital Tehran until August 21 based on its current security analysis. Swiss Air has also canceled its flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut during the same period. According to AFP news agency, Air France has further extended the suspension of its flights to Beirut. Other airlines, including airBaltic and EasyJet, had already said they were suspending flights to the region.
Talks between Hamas and Israel are not happening
Even though the US is trying to facilitate talks between Israel and Hamas, there is little hope of it succeeding. Several attempts at talks have failed before. Washington has previously blamed Hamas for the failure of the talks, but Israeli press reports say the US holds Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu partly responsible, as he is accused of appeasing far-right members of his coalition who oppose the agreement.
Let us tell you that last week for the first time the White House openly criticized one of these coalition leaders, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Smotrich had urged Israel to reject the US effort for ceasefire talks, saying that this would be a surrender to Hamas. At the same time, White House National Security Spokesperson John Kirby said that Smotrich was completely wrong.
UK, France and Germany also started trying
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have said in their statement that we agree that ceasefire talks cannot be delayed any further. We are working with all parties to prevent tensions from escalating and will leave no stone unturned to reduce tensions and find a way to stability.
