Iran Israel Tension News US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken talks Turkey Jordan Egypt Saudi Arab


US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday spoke to his counterparts from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt amid fears of a crisis in West Asia following Iran’s attacks on Israel, while Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met with Saudi Arabia and Israel. Talked to defense ministers.

Iran fired more than 300 drones and missiles at Israel, which were shot down in the air by Israeli, American and its allied forces before reaching the target. Iran has described the drone and missile attacks as a response to the April 1 attack on its consulate in Syria.

After US President Joe Biden’s talks with the leaders of G-7 countries, there has been diplomatic momentum in dealing with this crisis. Joe Biden also spoke separately over the phone with Jordan’s King Abdullah and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In these conversations, the US leadership stressed the need to prevent further escalation of tension in the region and reiterated America’s unwavering commitment to the defense of Israel.

The leaders also stressed the importance of diplomatic efforts to find a permanent solution to the crisis in Gaza that provides lasting peace and security for Israel and Palestine, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said. Meanwhile, Joe Biden talked to Congress leaders on the biggest foreign policy crisis of his tenure.

On April 13, Iran fired more than 300 killer drones, ballistic missiles and cruise drones at Israel. However, Israeli army IDF says that 99 percent of the missiles were shot down, in which America, Britain, France and Jordan also helped it. This attack is being seen as revenge for the attack on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, Syria. Attacks were carried out there in the beginning of this month, for which Israel is believed to be behind. However, Israel has not accepted it.
