#IRCTC app and web both crashed, captcha server crashed, they should stop using captcha2.0 and move to cloud, in today’s cloud world why they use datacenter and servers and try becoming phantom to do all in-house idk. This is totally unacceptable. @RailMinIndia @IRCTCofficial, pic.twitter.com/ZoqejeRR3Z

IRCTC portal down for maintenance exactly on time for Tatkal booking. Or may be deliberately shut down to facilitate agent bookings. So well timed maintenance. @AshwiniVaishnaw sir, this must be investigated!! @IRCTCofficial @PMOIndia pic.twitter.com/KXc3mXatZp

People are complaining on social media about IRCTC being down. One user wrote what nonsense this is during Tatkal booking. Captcha is not visible. On clicking Reload, Enable to Perform Transaction is showing. IRCTC is down again.
Another user wrote that both the IRCTC app and website have crashed. The captcha server has crashed. They should leave Captcha 2.0 and shift to cloud. Tagging the Railway Minister, this user wrote that if you people cannot run IRCTC then it should be left to experts and professionals. Someone will have to take responsibility for this.
Third major outage of December
This is the third major outage in Indian Railways this month. Earlier on December 9, the e-ticketing platform was closed for an hour due to repairs and on December 26 also for a long time due to maintenance activity. During this time too, people who booked Tatkal tickets were most affected.
IRCTC had said in one of its advisories that people who want to cancel their tickets can do so by calling customer care. Apart from this, they can email for Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR). IRCTC had provided contact numbers 14646, 08044647999, 08035734999. For solution of ticket related problems, mail can be sent to etickets@irctc.co.in.
