People complaining on social media
People are complaining about IRCTC being down on social media. One user wrote that IRCTC should be investigated. There is definitely some scam going on. By the time the app or website opens, the tickets will have been sold. Another user wrote that India is the world’s largest IT hub, yet it is not able to fix a website. You can collect taxes, but cannot provide good service in return. This is a matter of shame.
It is 10:11am … still IRCTC is not opening….
IRCTC should be inquired and checked… definitely scams are happening. By the time it opens all the tickets are gone… @AshwiniVaishnaw @irctc pic.twitter.com/NLTWJmvOt7

This is the second major outage of this month
This is the second major outage of this month in Indian Railways. Earlier on December 9, the e-ticketing platform was closed for one hour due to repairs. During this time too, people who had booked Tatkal tickets were most affected.
IRCTC had said in one of its advisories that people who want to cancel their tickets can do so by calling customer care. Apart from this, they can email for Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR). IRCTC had provided contact numbers 14646, 08044647999, 08035734999. For solution of ticket related problems, mail can be sent to etickets@irctc.co.in.
