Israel airstrikes Lebanon: Israeli air strikes have caused massive destruction in various parts of Lebanon, killing dozens of people. 29 people were killed in the attack on a multi-storey residential building in the Basta area of ​​central Beirut. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said the airstrike targeted 12 Hezbollah command centers in the Daheeh area south of Beirut. These included positions used by Hezbollah’s intelligence unit, a sea-launched missile unit, and Unit 4400. Unit 4400 operates arms smuggling from Iran through Syria.

The IDF also said that these centers were used to plan and execute terrorist attacks. Additionally, surveillance activities against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon were also being conducted from these bases.

Death toll and relief efforts
The Lebanese Health Ministry revised the death toll from 20 to dozens. Rescue teams continued to clear the debris and rescue survivors. Heavy bombardment caused extensive damage in Basta.

Attacks spread across the country
In addition to Beirut, Israeli airstrikes extended to the Baalbek-Hermel area in eastern Lebanon. At least 13 people, including four children, were killed in an attack on Shamistar. Another 11 people were killed and 32 were injured in attacks in other nearby cities. The city of Tire in southern Lebanon was also bombed, killing five people and injuring 19 others.

Israeli strikes since September have killed several Hezbollah commanders and caused serious damage to Lebanon’s infrastructure. According to UN data, more than 3,000 people have been killed so far and more than one million have been displaced. These air strikes have devastated many parts of Lebanon, deepening the humanitarian crisis.
