The Israeli government has said that an agreement was reached about a week ago to bring more than 6000 workers from India during April and May through ‘air shuttle’ after subsidizing charter flights.

Israel attacks Gaza again
Here the war between Israel and Hamas continues. Israel has again attacked Gaza. On Wednesday (April 10, 2024), it carried out an air strike on Gaza. Three sons and grandsons of Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh were also killed in this attack. According to Hebrew media, Ismail Haniyeh has confirmed the killings. The statement said, “All citizens of Gaza have paid the price with the blood of their children, including my children.” Arabic and Hebrew media reports said he was killed in a vehicle in the al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City.

India had expressed concern
India described the UN Security Council resolution demanding a ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan as a “positive step” and said the humanitarian crisis arising out of the Israel-Hamas conflict is “absolutely unacceptable”.

India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj, said at the UN General Assembly meeting here on Monday, “We are extremely concerned about the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The humanitarian crisis has deepened and instability is increasing in the region and beyond.

He said India views the passing of a resolution by the UN Security Council on March 25 as a “positive step”.

Kamboj said that a large number of civilians, especially women and children, have been killed due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. “The humanitarian crisis caused by this conflict is absolutely unacceptable,” he said.
