There are many natural places in the world which are famous because of their unique conditions and characteristics. But with some the stories keep getting connected and take a different form. Something similar happens with the river flowing in a narrow valley in which this valley has become famous as a unique magical waterfall. The water flowing at this place appears red in colour. But its story and truth are so different that the ground will slip under your feet.
The name of this waterfall located on the Loch Lomond waterfront in Scotland is Devil’s Fruitpit. It is known as a waterfall with magical properties in its surrounding areas. It is even said that the color of its water is red. But the reality is different, in fact neither is it a complete waterfall nor is it red in color.
The Devil’s Pulpit is a mushroom-shaped boulder that juts out from the river bed below a small waterfall. The real name of this pass is Finich Glen but people call this place as Devil Pulpit. The red sand rock below this river makes its water look red whereas there is no color of any kind in the water.
There is also a popular story of this waterfall being called a magical waterfall. (Symbolic photo: Wikimedia Commons)
The reason for the red color of the water is the brilliant red stone under the water due to which the water itself appears red. There is also a story regarding this. It is said that Satan addresses his followers on this rock because red water flows beneath it. It is also believed that the priest went to the Devil Pulpit to preach and hold secret meetings. Today this small narrow valley has become a tourist attraction.
