After several days of doing this, she goes and eats the prey hanging on that thorn or tree. It is said that it does this so that if there is any poison in that organism, its effect will disappear within a few days. Shrikes target large insects, lizards, rats and small birds.

Usually the shrike is a medium-sized, bent-beaked bird of prey. About 30 of its species are found. The size of most shrike birds is 16 to 25 centimeters.
