In this regard, Director M Srinivas gave important information on the future strategy of AIIMS Delhi.
Critical care with 200 beds will open soon
Dr. According to Srinivas, a 200-bed critical care block will soon open in AIIMS Delhi, which will be inside the Trauma Center campus of AIIMS. In this, patients with serious condition will be treated easily. This CCU will have advanced medical equipment. However, it may take about two years for this unit to open.
AI will help medical sector
AIIMS Director Dr. M Srinivas said that according to the increasing technology, AIIMS is also progressing in the medical field. Under this, Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI is also being used in the medical sector. At the same time, many tasks are being executed with the help of AI.
Increase in safety-security
AIIMS Additional Director Dr. Karan Singh said that 200 face recognition cameras have also been installed in AIIMS to increase safety and security. Let us tell you that about 2800 cameras are installed in the entire AIIMS, but 200 cameras with face recognition will be monitored for two months. After this, consideration will be given to increasing the number of these cameras. If any suspicious person comes under the radar of these cameras, he will be easily identified.
Beds will increase in ICU including operation theatre
AIIMS Director said that the number of operation theaters in Delhi AIIMS has increased by 50 percent, while the number of beds in ICU has been increased by 40 percent. Apart from this, there has been an increase in inpatient beds by 34%, radiological services by 20% and laboratory services by 15%. Continuous planning is being done to improve the service in Delhi AIIMS, so that the patients coming here do not face any problem in getting treatment.
Waiting lounges like airports will be built in 2025
According to the information, currently waiting areas have been made in Delhi AIIMS. In these, airport facilities like lounge, play area and library etc. will be added for children. AIIMS Director said that this is the first medical institute in the country, which is 100% paperless. This is digital transformation, which is very important in today’s times.
Work is going on on referral system
It is noteworthy that patients come to Delhi AIIMS from all over the country, but it is also a reality that it takes a lot of time for people to get appointments in AIIMS. At the same time, there are long queues for tests also. AIIMS Delhi is making a strategy for this. Under this, a referral system is being created. In such a situation, patients coming from Bihar will first be referred to Patna AIIMS. If proper treatment is not provided there then he will be sent to Delhi. This will not put much burden on any one hospital and it will be easier for the patient to get the right treatment. Software for this system has been prepared, work on which is continuing.
Around 50 lakh patients come to AIIMS every year
Let us tell you that every year about 50 lakh patients come to AIIMS. At present there are 3600 beds in AIIMS. During the year 2024 alone, around three lakh admissions took place in AIIMS Delhi. At the same time, 700-800 patients come to the emergency every day. At present there are 843 faculty here, but there is a shortage of 20-30% faculty, to fulfill which work is being done on vacancies. Interviews have been conducted for contract staff. Apart from this, work is going on on other things.
