Jammu police action in 2024 14 foreign terrorists killed 13 terrorist modules busted


Jammu Kashmir News: In the last few days, many reports of encounters between terrorists and security forces have come to light in Jammu and Kashmir. Last year, 14 foreign terrorists were killed in Jammu and 13 terrorist modules were busted. Besides, action was taken against 827 people for indulging in anti-national activities.

180 people were detained

In the year 2024, Jammu and Kashmir Police has taken swift action against terrorists. Police detained 180 people under the Public Safety Act (PSA), earlier in 2023, 168 people were detained. Police spokesperson said, “Significant progress was achieved in security and crime control in Jammu region in 2024. This year, 14 foreign terrorists have been killed on the anti-terrorism front.

13 terrorist modules busted

Police said that 13 terrorist modules were busted in the entire area. “These modules were active across the Jammu region, including one each in Rajouri and Reasi, two each in Poonch and Kathua, three in Udhampur and four in Doda,” the police spokesperson said. The elimination of these foreign terrorists has dealt a deep blow to the networks attempting to disrupt peace and stability in the region.

Decline in petty crimes in Jammu- Police

“Action was taken against overground workers (OGWs), 827 persons were taken as compared to 282 last year,” a police spokesperson said. 180 persons were detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA), while 168 were detained in 2023. There has been a significant decline in petty crimes in the Jammu region, where 13,163 criminal cases were registered in 2024. were, whereas in the previous year this number was 15,774. The spokesperson said that this is the result of the tireless efforts of the police personnel in maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety in the entire area.
