This wooden satellite has been created jointly by researchers from Kyoto University and logging company Sumitomo Forestry. This satellite has been named Ligrosat. Before making the satellite, the wood from which it was made. That wood had been thoroughly tested. It was also ensured whether wood would be able to survive in the space environment or not. It was only then that the work of making this satellite was started. This satellite is made from magnolia wood. Japan’s space agency JAXA will launch this satellite in March in collaboration with the American space agency NASA.
