During a conversation with Red FM, Javed Akhtar says, ‘We listened to the script in the music room of the film’s director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, where this situation did not exist. So I told him to put a song here. But he refused and said that till now the boy has only seen a glimpse of the girl. Haven’t even met him yet. So how can we keep the song? Still, I somehow convinced Vidhu Vinod Chopra for this song. He told me to prepare this song within 4 days.
Javed Akhtar further says that ‘I then went home and forgot that I had to write a song. On the day of the meeting I remembered that a song had to be given today. I left the house but I was feeling very embarrassed that a meeting was scheduled because of me and my song was not ready. I was just thinking what I would answer..’
