JEE Main Exam 2025: National Testing Agency (NTA) has made changes in the question paper pattern of JEE Main 2025. NTA has said that now optional questions will not be included in Section B of the exam. This change will be applicable to both Engineering (BE/B.Tech, Paper 1) and Architecture and Planning (B.Arch/B.Planning, Paper 2) examinations. For more details, candidates can also take help of the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in.

The agency has said that the registration process will start soon. It has been said in the notification that in JEE Main 2025, there will be only 5 questions for each subject in Section B. All candidates will have to attempt all 5 questions for Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech), Paper 2A (B.Arch) and Paper 2B (B.Planning) with no option given.

How was the pattern?

Let us tell you that there were a total of 90 questions in the exam structure of the last four years. Section A had 20 questions for each subject from Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Whereas in Section B, there were 10 questions from each subject. Candidates were required to solve 5 questions each from 3 subjects in Section B.

But in the year 2025, the agency will follow the old pattern of exam. In which there will be 25 questions from each subject in Physics, Chemistry and Maths. This change will affect the way students prepare as they will have to answer all the questions. The examination agency has asked the candidates to keep an eye on the official site. So that he does not miss any update.

Additional questions were included in 2021 to address academic challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, now that the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared COVID-19 a public health emergency, the agency has decided to return the exam pattern to its old format.
