Jharkhand Assembly Elections: Regarding the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Monday that the seat sharing arrangement among the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies is almost final and the first list of candidates will be released within 48 hours of the announcement of the elections. .

While talking to reporters after the meeting, Sarma, in-charge of BJP for Jharkhand assembly elections, said that the seat distribution among NDA allies has almost been decided. As soon as the Election Commission declares the Model Code of Conduct, we will release the first list in 24 to 48 hours. We are waiting for the announcement of the Election Commission.

Negotiations regarding seats with AJSU final

Assam CM said that as per the agreement on seat sharing, AJSU party led by Sudesh Mahato will contest elections on 9-11 seats. Talks on seat sharing with AJSU party are almost final. There is some problem regarding one seat. It will also be resolved by Tuesday.

Talk will take place after Chirag Paswan returns from abroad

He said that Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) will contest elections on two assembly seats. At the same time, talks on seat sharing with Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will be held on Wednesday or Thursday after party president Chirag Paswan returns from abroad. The BJP leader said that except five or six seats, the names of the candidates have been finalized for almost all the seats. He said that the decision on the remaining names will also be taken soon.

Tenure will end by January 5, 2025

Assam CM said that the election committee will meet once again tomorrow, after which the party’s parliamentary board will meet. Elections for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly are to be held this year. The tenure of the current assembly will end on January 5, 2025.
