Jhye Richardson Injury: Before IPL 2023, there is bad news for Mumbai Indians. Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson of this team has been injured again and his chances of recovering from injury till IPL are slim. Jay Richardson was bought by the Mumbai franchise in the auction held in December 2022 for 1.50 crores.
Jhye Richardson is battling a hamstring injury. Richardson suffered this injury during the Big Bash League (BBL). Since January 4, he was out of the field due to this injury. He returned last Saturday but had to leave the field again. Richardson was playing for his cricket club Fremantle last Saturday after being out of the field for two whole months due to injury. Here he was able to bowl only four overs in a 50-over match. He felt uncomfortable bowling and then he immediately reached for the scan. After this, once again his hamstring injury came to the fore in the medical examination and he was advised rest for a few weeks.
Out of India tour too
Jhye Richardson was part of the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League but he could not be part of the team’s title-winning squad due to a hamstring injury. After this, he could not even play in Australia’s domestic tournaments like Marsh Cup and Sheffield Shield. Despite this, however, he was selected in the ODI squad for the tour of India in view of his recovery, but now Nathan Ellis has been replaced in the Australian squad.
Played only 38 international matches in 5 years
Jhye Richardson had made his international debut in the year 2017 itself, but after that he was out of the Australian team for a long time due to shoulder injury in 2019. This 26-year-old player has so far played a total of 36 matches for Australia in all three formats. He has a total of 57 wickets in his name.
