Before dying, Jiah had written a suicide note, where she had made many serious allegations against her boyfriend Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi. Jiya told that she had once become pregnant after which Sooraj had got her aborted. The actress had also accused Sooraj of physically and mentally torturing her. After this, police arrested Sooraj Pancholi but later he was released on bail. Ten years after his release, the Bombay High Court acquitted Sooraj.
